In the Name of God

In the name of God
You brave the ridicule of man
Standing quietly at my doorstep
Asking for a gift to feed the hungry.

In the name of God
You surrender precious moments
Of a life that could be lived differently,
To help shelter the poor and destitute.

In the name of God
You deny a life of comfort
Freely and without hesitation
Unselfishly sacrificing your self to a greater cause.

In the name of God
You say your morning prayers,
And then, strapping a belt of explosives to your chest,
Walk into a crowd of innocent children, and push the button.

“ Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. ”- 1 John 4:11,12 (NIV)
