Misty Sky

A dream I have, before I die
To lie beneath a misty sky
To the hew of russet dawn
The dream of Misty Sky redrawn

A bard with harp would ere do well
The tale of Misty Sky to tell
In sonorous voice the song to sing
On mystic flight of eagles wings

Wrapped deep within the gilded shroud
The gentle touch of wind-swept cloud
Whose arms surround in passions high
The sweet embrace of Misty Sky

Oh, all consuming gentle mist
Oh,  taste the tender lovers kiss
Oh, speak the longing of my soul
Oh, Misty Sky, to make me whole

Come forth, elusive, wandering dream
Refreshing as a mountain stream
Restore the vision lingering nigh
Enchanting rapture, Misty Sky

I plead, oh sonnet of desire
Rekindle now the waiting fire
Embers of my seeking eye
To dream again of Misty Sky

And wait for sleep to claim again
The longing in the hearts of men
To dream again as shadows fly
To lie beneath a Misty Sky
