Simmering, smelting,
Covered in a salty sweat.
Dripping, dripping,
Slipping, tripping,
Its not even summer yet!
Roasting, roasting,
Hot and toasting,
Baking in the mid day sun,
Cooking, cooking
(are you looking?)
Are we really having fun?
Hazy, hazy,
Slow and lazy,
Way too hot to work or play,
Torrid, torrid,
Drippy, horrid,
Autumn’s cool still months away.
Melting, melting,
Cold drinks belting,
Waiting for the cool of night,
Waiting, waiting,
Anticipating,
Coming dusk and sweet delight.
