Hammer

She reaches through the darkness
Hands gently touching
Soft caress
A thin veil of silk falls
Floating down
Revealing

Her breath comes in short gasps
Warm with sweet perfume
Moist kisses
Wisps of flyaway hair shimmer
She leans
Speaking

A harsh, piercing sound
Blaring and persistent
Haughty and bold
Rude
Abrupt and disappointing
Sadness

And the vision of the seductress
Only moments before present
Dissolves as a mist
In the stark reality
Of the insensitive blare
Of the morning alarm

And I seek my revenge
With a hammer
Silencing the intruder
Forever
Returning to the dreamy memory
Gladly
