Classical Music By David Roth © 27th January, 2005
I’m flying this morning Adrift on a cloud My spirit is soaring, The music is loud.
I’ve listened to Ellington Strahorn and King, The sultry Miss Ella, Glenn Miller and Swing,
The dazzling brilliance Of Nora and Stan, The drums of Gene Krupa, And Quincy, the man.
The sweet honest fusion Of Rhythm and Blues, Smooth jazz riffs by masters Who’ve all paid their dues.
The genius of improv, The razzamatazz, Our classical music, The essence of jazz.
Craftsmen like Armstrong, Ammons and Miles, Dizzy and Tourentine All give me smiles.
When my day is finished, This promise I’ll keep, I’ll drift off to Birdland, Instead of to sleep. |
