Bookends

A canvas draped in vibrant hues
Of golds and reds and brilliant blues
In beams of light in morning skies
As morning sun begins to rise

A bold enchantment crisply drawn
The eastern breaks majestic dawn
Gives wings my soul, to soar, to flight
On waves of shimmering crystal light

To reach the far end of the day
Another canvas to display
Courageous bursts of color shine
The grand celestial evening shrine

Birds flying high in silhouette
The dazzling sky in stark vignette
My thoughts are drawn in sweet repose
Another day is drawn to close

From glowing dawn to shimmering night
I gaze in wonder at the sight
Of heaven’s bookends soaring high
In dawn’s new light, and evening sky
